Dealing With What Is
There are three keys to mindfulness and mindful living.
Focussed Attention
Open Awareness
Acceptance or Non-Judgement
The first two keys are about learning to manage your mind, bringing yourself to the present moment - the now.
Focussed attention is about developing the ability to concentrate on one thing at a time without getting distracted by other thoughts or external stimuli. Techniques such as meditation or deep breathing exercises can help calm the mind and improve focus.
Open awareness, on the other hand, involves being aware of everything that is happening around you without judgment or attachment. It means being fully present and engaged in the moment without trying to change or control anything.
The third key to mindfulness is acceptance or non-judgment. This involves letting go of the need to judge or evaluate everything that happens, and simply accepting things as they are. This can be a significant challenge for many people, especially those who are used to being critical or judgmental. However, it is an essential step for developing a peaceful and mindful way of living.
By practising these three keys, you can learn to live in the moment and experience life fully without worrying, fears, or regrets. Mindfulness can help you to find inner peace, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve your overall well-being.
Our next Zoom mindfulness session will be on the 23rd September at 7.00 pm.
I hope you will be able to join me.
